Rare set of eight “Les Arcs” chairs, an iconic model associated with Charlotte Perriand and designed for the residences of the Les Arcs resort in the late 1960s. This set is distinguished by its complete authenticity: • Entirely original pieces, never restored or reassembled. • Period leather with a deep and even patina. • Original foot caps inside the tubes (a very rarely preserved feature) • Original metal frame with even surface corrosion, a testament to its age. • No replaced leather, no repaired stitching. • One chair has a localized tear at the attachment point, intentionally left as is to preserve the set's integrity (see last photo) The chairs have been preserved in their original condition, with no intervention other than cleaning and conditioning the leather to maintain their historical character. This type of unrestored, coherent, and complete set is difficult to find today, especially in such authentic condition. Characteristics. • Period: late 1960s / early 1970s. • Materials: natural leather, black tubular frame. • Provenance: undisclosed private collection. • Set of 8 chairs (as sold) Condition. Wear, leather thinning, signs of age, and superficial oxidation are consistent with age and use, adding to the charm of these pieces. Perfect for collectors, galleries, architectural projects, or spaces seeking to incorporate vintage Brutalist/Alpine Modern design.
