Set of 2 biot candle holders in bubbled glass purple eggplant style oil lamp 1960

These delightful vintage candle holders are made of bubbled glass from biot. These hand candle holders take the shape of the old oil lamps. Dark red eggplant in color, they are embellished with a handle to move them. They are blown in the mouth according to an artisanal technique (we see, at the base, the trace of the break of the cane to blow the glass). Biot's bubbled glass has existed since 1956, so glassmakers succeed in creating bubble glass: by mastering the bubble, by impregnating it between two layers of glass, thus making a defect a quality. Between tradition and creation, each biot glassworks is unique, because blown in the mouth by the master glassmakers. Depending on the season, the products are available in all colors: sand pink, linden, amethyst, persian blue... Pastel colors or deep and sparkling at the same time. In very good condition, these candle holders measure 10 X 16 cm in height. They are both signed biot with acid.
