Pair of wall sconces in Restoration style - bronze Hettier & Vincent
Superb pair of Restoration-style wall sconces by the famous bronze maker Hettier & Vincent, a Parisian house that had a prestigious shop in Place des Vosges. Made in the second half of the 20th century. Made of bronze. Original gilding and green patina, all in perfect condition. The wall parts each represent a large torch with a green patina, topped with a finely sculpted flame in gilded bronze. The two arms of light symmetrically extend on either side of the torch, in an elegant composition of water leaves, floral scrolls, and acanthus leaves. The sconces are adorned with leafy motifs, while the lower part features a rich vegetal decoration ending with a pine cone motif. The contrast between the green patina of the torches and the gilding of the ornaments highlights the relief and finesse of the chiseling. A decorative ensemble of great elegance, characteristic of the neoclassical repertoire of the Restoration style, combining vegetal motifs, symmetry, and an elongated architectural composition. The sconces bear the stamp "HV" on the back, for Hettier & Vincent (see last photo). Electricity installed and tested (for E14 bulbs). Cardboard candles, in very good condition. Careful packaging guaranteed. Dimensions: Height: 29.00 cm. Width: 17.00 cm. Depth: 10.00 cm. Total weight: 1.60 kg.
