Add a vibrant touch of mid-century French art pottery to your interior with this authentic lidded ceramic box (bonbonnière / trinket box) from the iconic coastal pottery town of Vallauris, France. Dating back to the 1960s or 1970s, this piece features the region's famous and highly tactile "sea foam" (écume de mer) drip glaze technique. A rich, glossy chocolate-brown base is beautifully contrasted by striking fiery red accents and a thick, frothy, texturized white border that separates the colors. It is fully functional and retains its original matching lid, which is often missing from pieces of this era. The underside is clearly stamped with the embossed "VALLAURIS" hallmark, verifying its vintage provenance. Perfect for use on a vanity, coffee table, or desk to store small jewelry, sweets, or simply as a standalone statement piece for collectors of Space Age and Fat Lava ceramics. Excellent vintage condition. The glaze retains its brilliant high-gloss shine. There was a tiny, historical flea bite chip near the rim that has been color-blended and glazed; it is virtually invisible to the naked eye and does not affect the beauty or display of the piece. (Please review photos for close-up details). Dimensions: • Total Exterior Width (Diameter): Approx. 11.5 cm / 4.5 in. • Inner Rim Opening: Approx. 8.3 cm / 3.25 in. • Base Footring Ringed Diameter: Approx. 8.9 cm / 3.5 in.
