18th-century carved Spanish cabinet with hidden storage.

We offer this sublime Spanish cabinet in hand-carved walnut dating from the late 18th century, around 1780-1800, with its freestanding structure, original ironwork, and hidden storage. The entire piece is finely carved from top to bottom, featuring large metal hinges and a massive lock on the upper cabinet. The sides have traditional country-style handles. The interior showcases additional carvings with a large forged drop-leaf hinge. The central cabinet is adorned with a Renaissance figure under a vaulted canopy. There are seven large drawers as well as a small hidden side drawer. The base is fully carved and embellished with oversized ironwork, with double supports for the drop-down front panel. The cabinet has been lightly cleaned, waxed, and polished, and exhibits an authentic period patina. External dimensions: height 132 cm, width 87 cm, depth 41 cm (83 cm with the front panel lowered), height from the foot to the bottom of the panel 86 cm. In good condition with wear consistent with age and slight discolouration.
