A magnificent piece of african art. They have all the characteristics of the oyo yoruba style: scarifications and beaded necklaces. In tradition, having twins was a sign of misfortune. To avoid having them, superstition dictated that we rub shoulders with statuettes representing a pair of twins. This is why they show a patina of use on the chest and buttocks.
