Art Nouveau Jugendstil Sugar Bowl in Gold Metal with Glass Bowl

Period: ca. 1880-1910 this pretty bowl whose metal support is entirely in the spirit of jugendstil (the german-austrian variant of art nouveau). The decoration features floral designs with more geometric oval patterns. It is gold in color on a base metal and is likely brass plating. The double basket handle style handle is finished with a ball on top. The liner is made of thick glass. There is a hallmark near the base of the handle, but it is indecipherable. Condition: some thinning of the gold layer and oxidation spots inside. There are nibbles on the edge of the glass bowl (see photo). Dimensions: 13 cm high, 9 cm in diameter, 0.250 kg.
