Chalet stool in solid pine, Méribel, circa 1960

Pine stool from a chalet in Méribel, in the French Alps, around 1960. Its square seat with softened corners is made of pine boards that reveal the grain and knots of the wood. It rests on four straight legs joined by crossbars under the seat. A simple and functional piece of furniture, representative of the furnishings of alpine chalets from the mid-20th century.
