For sale, a magnificent and rare individual salt or pepper set in Louis XV / Rocaille style, signed by the prestigious Parisian silversmith house Ravinet d'Enfert (clearly visible square hallmark R [Clover] D, active between 1891 and 1912). The set is of very high quality and includes: • 4 silver-plated, chased salt cellars, mounted on small feet with leaf scrolls. The interior retains its original gilding (vermeil) in well-preserved condition. • 3 original transparent molded glass inner bowls in perfect condition (note, one glass bowl is missing from the 4). • 4 matching salt spoons in the shape of stylized shells with richly decorated handles featuring Art Nouveau floral motifs. • The original custom wooden case, covered in cream crocodile-effect paper with a ivy frieze and lined with period velvet and pleated satin. Condition: Beautiful state of preservation for pieces over 120 years old. Very nice antique patina, the silverware displays magnificent iridescent reflections from the period (to be left as is or gently revived according to your preferences).
