Set of 8 glazed earthenware soup plates circa 1940, dieulefit, wide, heavy, with gadroons highlighted with the famous earth-colored border, their sound is also earthy, muffled, dull, a little hollow. Sublime delicate wears on the thick white earth - these are extraordinary decorative pieces on the lime or plaster wall of a country farmhouse in provence. All colors from yellow, from acidic to burnt. Two chips on the reverse and a hair, without shock, and all its gentle wear, all this work of age, like old, long-worn denim, irreplaceable.
