Set of 4 stackable chairs 'Selene' in white by Vico Magistretti for Artemide, 1969Italian architect Vico Magistretti designed the 'Selene' chairs in 1969 for Artemide S.p.A., Milan, Italy. A Selene chair can be used both indoors and outdoors and is very sturdy in injection molded polyester and reinforced with fiberglass. The chair was made from a single mould, the moulded chairs of a single piece offered a quick production compared to other techniques. A Characteristic of the Selene chair both from the ascetic point of view and the strength are the S-shaped feet, offering stiffness while keeping the chair light. The chairs also stack beautifully due to the shape of the seat and back. The Selene chair is part of the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and other major museums around the world. The Selene chair was also featured at the 1972 exhibition "Italy: The New Domestic Landscape" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Width 47.5 cm / 18.70 inches Depth 54 cm / 21.25 inches Height 75 cm / 29.52 inches Seat height 45 cm / 17.71 inches Condition: Good vintage condition, some signs of wear proportional to age.
