Very large table lamp from the late 60s or early 70s. This lamp was manufactured by royal copenhagen and sold by fog & mørup, denmark. Bold and impressive graphic design by inge-lise koefoed, with dark blue decor and elements in grays/beiges. The lamp is part of the "tenera" series initially sold under the aluminia brand. The brand name was changed to royal copenhagen in 1972. This lamp still bears the "a" mark for aluminia under the base, therefore manufactured before 1972. The lamp is available in 3 sizes. This one is the medium size. It is accompanied by a handmade lampshade, covered in raffia on a vintage new old stock lampshade structure in an octagonal shape which suits this lamp very well. Nils thorsson became artistic director of royal copenhagen in 1958. He introduced several young female artists from denmark, norway and sweden to the company to create a new house style. The new series of stoneware and earthenware produced in the 60s and 70s became a great success for royal copenhagen. Inge-lise kofoed was one of these artists, she studied at the school of arts and crafts in copenhagen from 1956 to 1960. The lamp is marked "fog & morup copenhagen" and "a" for aluminia under the base. New wiring. Diameter of the lampshade: 44 cm total height including the lampshade: 84 cm height of the lamp base including the socket: 51 cm diameter of the lamp base: 17 cm.
