Set of 4 Cesca chairs, model B32, Manufactured by MYC Gavina, a subsidiary of Gavina Italia in Spain. It was in the late 60s that Dino Gavina granted the license to the Spaniard Mario Cavallero who created MYC Gavina, thus introducing Spain to the world of international design. A highly regarded and high-quality edition, visible in the finish of the tube as well as in the thickness and shape of the beech wood frames, it also retains the original hand-woven Viennese natural fiber grid. Manufacturer's mark engraved on the tube and stamp on the inner frame. In good condition with some normal signs of use and the passage of time. Famous for its striking cantilever design and avant-garde modernist aesthetic, the Cesca was the first chair with a steel tube frame and cane seat to be mass-produced. Designed in the late 1930s by Marcel Breuer, this timeless design was named Cesca in honor of his daughter Francesca. It is undoubtedly one of the most important chairs of the 20th century, its validity today is proof of that.
