Collectible piece in glazed earthenware dated 1987, published during the artist's lifetime. It represents the mythical "Devil of Timanfaya, " created by the painter and architect César Manrique (1919–1992). A pioneer of eco-architecture, Manrique shaped the identity of Lanzarote by marrying art and nature (low buildings, preservation of the volcanic landscape). Designed in 1968 for the Timanfaya National Park, this devilish motif embodies the raw power of the island's volcanic soil. Stunning contrast between the red and black of the demon on a white glazed background. An ideal graphic piece to place on an easel, frame, or include in a vintage tile wall composition. Tile from 1987 (period edition during the artist's lifetime). In superb condition. Glossy glaze, vibrant colours. No cracks or chips. A few micro-bubbles from firing. Custom reinforced protection. Fast shipping.
