D-2138 Magnet Table Lamps By Raak Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 1980S

One of the rarest raak amsterdam table lamps from the later amsterdam period, this iconic model was officially named “ magnet.” as always with raak, it is a design like no other—a perfect blend of functionality and sculptural form. It features a tall, perfectly symmetrical cylindrical base with a cocoa brown wrinkle coating. The upper section has a cutout that holds a chromed metal ball-shaped shade, secured by a powerful magnet. The shade includes a brown plastic insert with a fine ribbed foam-like texture on the inside, which shows marks from use with a light bulb of too much wattage. However, these marks are invisible once a light bulb is inserted in the chromed ball-shaped shade, making them completely unnoticeable. The lamp is operated via a white rectangular push button on the base and remains fully marked with its original sticker labels, including the paper cover over the magnet to prevent scratches on the chromed shade. *Price for one lamp
