Wear corresponds to age and use. This small Japanese piece of furniture dates from the Taishō period (1912–1926), a time when domestic interiors gradually evolved towards greater flexibility while maintaining a strong connection to tradition. Furniture from this period is characterised by its simplicity, functionality, and balanced proportions. Made from paulownia wood (Paulownia spp.), a lightweight and stable species widely used for everyday furniture in Japan, this piece features a clear and practical organisation. It consists of an upper compartment with a sliding door, decorated with a discreet traditional pattern, and several lower drawers providing simple and effective storage. The natural patina of the wood, marked by gentle and even wear, adds character without excess. Compact in size, this piece easily fits as an accent piece, small chest of drawers, or functional element in contemporary interiors. It is in excellent condition, except for the characteristic imperfections of any antique, due to the passage of time. Add a touch of originality to your interior with a unique piece that fits into contemporary style and brings personality to your space. This antique chest of drawers with a sliding door can be combined with one of our armchairs or with our available antique sideboards. UNIQUE PIECE.
