The Planophore is both a separating element and a library. The slightly asymmetrical, aluminum swivel panels are the most striking feature. The massive shelf is made of high-quality materials. Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby designed planophore both as a dividing element and as a library. Its open sides create a strong horizontality emphasized by the massive tablets with rounded edges that are reminiscent of airplane wings and seem to float on the vertical panels. The name of the shelf derives directly from this: the original planophore, the first model of stable aircraft propelled by rubber ribbons, made its debut in 1871. The cabinet has served as a bookcase since 2015 and can be used to display a large amount of books and other objects, even very heavy ones. The panels have been repainted in warm colours. Some panels have slight scratches and a nut cover is missing on the top shelf, only visible from a high view. Original price: 7050€
