Chinese bed

Athentic and rare chinese wedding bed, also called opium room, carved wood enhanced with golden red lacquer with imperial court decorations (landscapes, characters and animals). Provenance: south china.period: 19th century. Bed composed of about fifty pieces in polychrome and gilded wood to assemble by technique of tenon and mortises (shutters, windows, uprights etc...). Fully removable bed.
