Elegant double salt cellar or table condiment holder made by Wolfers Frères in Brussels, probably around the 1950s. Model possibly designed by Marcel Wolfers (or Charles Geets...). In a neoclassical yet modernist style, the mount is made of solid 925/1000 vermeil silver (gilded with fine gold), holding two polished green hardstone bowls (aventurine), joined around a twisted central stem topped with a significant matching sphere. The small ball feet and the delicacy of the mount give the whole piece a particularly refined character. The piece bears the Wolfers Frères hallmark featuring a boar's head above the letter W, as well as the title A925, corresponding to sterling silver. Good condition. Dimensions: 6.5 X 10 X 5.5 cm. A beautiful example of post-war Belgian silverware, combining precious metal and hardstone in a spirit that is both luxurious and modernist.
