Baccarat oval crystal compote dish with diamonds and pearls, 1850

This magnificent oval compotier is made of crystal. It most likely comes from the Baccarat crystal factory, with similar models in molded crystal appearing in old 19th-century catalogs. It is an elegant and imposing drageoir: this mounted and covered bowl is oval in shape. It is decorated with diamond motifs and a frieze of pearls on the edge. This compotier is not signed, it dates from the second half of the 19th century - Baccarat signed its production from 1935 - and measures 29 cm in height by 27 cm X 18 cm. In very good overall condition, it has scratches from use and small chips on the edge. Also note firing cracks on the edge of the rounded edge.
