He studied at the école régionale des beaux-arts in angers under charles berjole, then at the école nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in paris. He designed many advertising posters, notably for cointreau, a brand on which he collaborated from 1925 to 1965. In the late 1930s, he began to illustrate children's stories. In 1961, the compagnie générale transatlantique commissioned him to decorate the children's playroom of the liner france, then to illustrate the menus of the compagnie générale transatlantique, which were broadcast throughout the world. In the 1950s he illustrated a series of water agendas for the chambre syndicale des fabricants de tuyaux en fonte [archive], decorated with thematic illustrations around water (versailles, water castles, cast iron at the service of man, etc.) [archive]7. [archive] three years after his death, the state acquired 94 lithographic posters and a dozen watercolors.
