Large vintage hand-carved wooden platter – mahogany, 1960s

Large hollow dish made of solid wood, turned and hand-carved, in a tropical wood reminiscent of mahogany. Its gouged hammered surface gives it a subtle and organic textured effect. The deep patina of the wood reveals beautiful reddish veins, with some lighter touches. The piece is unsigned but suggests careful craftsmanship, likely from the 1960s or 1970s. This dish is both decorative and functional: a catch-all, fruit bowl, centerpiece, or wall sculpture if hung.
