Red lacquered metal pendant lamps with wide flared shade and upper perforations. Danish production, 1960s. Pair of pendant lamps attributable to the “Semi” model, designed by Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup for Fog & Mørup during the 1960s. The wide floating silhouette of the shade, inspired by organic Danish modernist forms, reflects the minimalist approach developed by the two designers during the Scandinavian modern era. The red lacquered metal enhances the graphic presence of the design, while the small upper perforations create a softer indirect glow. Originally introduced in 1968, the “Semi” model later became one of the best-known icons of Danish postwar lighting design. Good condition. They may show signs of age and wear.
