Large HST Painting 1897 Signed P. Ecclesiastical Head Abbot Cegaut Dijon St Michel

Large and beautiful painting made in oil on embedded canvas representing abbot cegaut. Signed by philippe tête (research to be carried out) in 1897. Very beautifully made, the work will require some restorations (see photos, contractual - the last photos allowing you to see the scale of the work in situ). Sold without frame. Dimensions of the frame: 74 / 90 cm we find a certain amount of information in the municipal archives of dijon on the history of the saint michel church (between 1792 and 1982) and on the dates of appointment of abbot cegaut (see link: http: //archivesmunicipalesdijon.files.wordpress.com/2019/04/ir_2m1.pdf ‌) the physical and spiritual work of father deschamps in the service of the parish of saint-michel was honored in 1831, succeeding the parish priest comparot, died in 1874, abbots girardot (1854-1865), léger (1866-1867) and cegaut (1867-1895) who were as many attentive pastors as they contributed to the beautification of saint-michel and to the good behavior of the parish. Alexis golmard will replace priest cegaut in 1895.
