Vintage Scandinavian boomerang coffee table with folding extensions by Samcom, 1960

Rare boomerang coffee table, with 2 folding ends of the top, scandinavian style, designed by edvard valentinsen, for samcom, 1960s. Made in denmark and designed in teak, this beautiful piece was created from a single piece that was cut at a specific angle, then assembled so that the junction is perfectly symmetrical, at the level of the veining & patterns of the wood. What is remarkably and distinctly unique with this boomerang table & which differs from the others, are the following features: - it really looks like a real boomerang, regardless of the angle of view. - there are 2 flaps with 2 sliding mechanisms, so it can increase or decrease in size, so it can be used completely open, semi-open or closed, depending on the needs or space, as a dining table with a folding extension (see photos.) - she has 5 feet. The piece is in good original & vintage condition. It has only been slightly dusted & glossed, in order to respect as much as possible its original state & its patina of time. There are, of course, some marks & signs of age and traces of previous use proportional to time, on top, extensions, feet and general structure (see photos), but nothing that affects its beauty or functionality. ~ the two sliding mechanisms under the table used to open or "drop" the extensions work perfectly and effortlessly. ~ the table bears its original brand, "samcom" (see photos.) ~ incredibly well made, the piece is stable and solid. Overall dimensions: h: 40cm X l maximum from one edge to the other (fully open): 170 cm l maximum for each wing (fully open): 122 cm l minimum per wing (downward drop-off extensions): 92 cm l of each flap: 30 cm d of each flap: 30 cm d actual of the wooden top, from the junction: 62.5 cm d virtual (fully open table): 101 cm.
