Art  Deco Style Acrilan Coffee Table by William Watting for Fristho Franeker, 1950s

Much desired coffee table by william watting for fristho, which is often attributed to gio ponti or giordano chiesa. A very special design due to the organic warm walnut wood combined with the transparent glass, with elegant art deco elements such as the brass ornament in the centre of the table and the curved clover design of the wooden frame. This table is documented in the book "fristho 'vooruitstrevende meubelen, 1921-1978'" by bert looper, page 129 (2014). The glass top has been replaced with a top that is a perfect replica of the old one with the same etched glass rim.
