Very beautiful and large glazed ceramic vase with pretty proportions and a wonderful color! I fell in love as soon as I saw it! It is very difficult to give a name to its color, and even more difficult to do it justice in the photos, impossible to bring out this magnificent color, this blue emerald green shade, and yet I tried everything: changed the background, changed of light, exterior or interior, I would therefore say between duck blue and pine green with a hint of turquoise, and all that with nuances, lighter traces, darker drips, all slightly textured. Once, when I was looking for it, I found a little handwritten note inside saying “moroccan artisanal pottery 1950”. This seems entirely plausible to me, this vase indeed shows small accidents which testify to its 7 decades: several chips, small losses including two clearly visible on the upper edge and 4 on the edge of the base, but this does not takes nothing away from its incredible charm. As for the craftsmanship, there is no doubt, it is a very good example of quality craftsmanship. And for the origin, why not, the slightly raw texture evokes tamegroute pottery and we find on safi ceramics, a color very close to this very special blue-green. It measures 28 cm in height, approximately 23 cm in maximum diameter, 13.5 cm in diameter at the base, 16 cm in diameter at the opening. It weighs approximately 2.5 kg.
