Wrought iron candelabra with dragon head, Samuel Yellin style, 20th century

Hand-forged wrought iron candelabra executed in the style of master blacksmith Samuel Yellin. The structural design originates from a single iron bar manipulated using traditional forging techniques. The base ends in a detailed hand-carved dragon head with open jaws and stylised features, showing precise chisel work and iron manipulation. From this zoomorphic terminal, the iron shaft coils flat to create a stable, low-profile base before rising vertically. The central stem transitions into an openwork braided cage geometry, creating a linear optical effect when viewed from different angles. Above this section, the solid stem extends to support a hand-hammered, widened washer with leaf-shaped edges to catch wax, ending in an integrated cylindrical cup. The entire iron surface displays a dark, authentic oxidised patina, with textures and hammer marks inherent to hand-forged metal.
