This enamelled ceramic plate that dates from the 50s, is stamped and signed h.bequet. "my principle is the application of artisanal methods on the industrial level. In a specialty like mine, that alone can save the magic and independence of creation." this sentence from bequet sums up this man's state of mind. Hubert bequet was a talented belgian ceramist, who created his own earthenware factory in quaregnon in 1934. It had a dazzling development to reach, in 1963, the peak of its success. She was renowned for the quality and creativity of her productions. If it is common to cross vases, potiches, candy boxes, decorative animals, from the famous manufacture, the model we offer is new and unique. It is a decorative plate representing a couple of lovers, who have all the mid-century aesthetic codes that we love. The decoration made by hand, is engraved and the enamelled parts in relief are of exceptional quality. The free-form plate has a song crossed by a golden line with fine gold. But that we also find on some details of the drawings such as the shoes of the man and the stripes of the outfits. We definitely fell in love with the aesthetics so 50's of this scene... The plate is in very good condition with some small lack of gilding on the edges of the song. Height: 22 cm. Width: 17 cm. Depth: 1.5 cm.
