Ghoum Silk carpet

A pretty hand-woven rug in natural ghoum silk dating back to the 1950s. Qum rugs are renowned for their elaborate and lush patterns representing flora and fauna and for their extraordinary craftsmanship. This carpet features a central medallion and motifs of flowers and leaves. The shades of blue are quite extraordinarily luminescent. It is in excellent condition and measures 150x90cm. It is hand-woven in natural silk although the website does not offer any option to select silk as a material. So I selected wool, even if it's not wool and silk.
