Art Deco bonbonniere, rosalin crystal, Moser, Czechoslovakia, 1930s

The Moser bonbonniere from the 1930s is an example of Czech glassmaking craftsmanship, made of crystal glass in a delicate, slightly translucent pink known as rosalin glass. Its geometric form is based on a wide, tapering bowl and a conical lid topped with a spherical yellow knob with stylised brown veins. The faceted surface of the vessel evokes the modernist precision of Art Deco, and the high gloss highlights the crystal clarity of the glass. The construction, devoid of visible fittings or metal elements, testifies to refined craftsmanship. The object is in very good condition, with original details and no major repairs – minor scratches or microbubbles typical of blown glass may occur. This bonbonniere, rooted in the atmosphere of interwar Czechoslovakia, tells the story of an era when everyday glass objects gained the status of small works of art. The subtle pink of the rosalin glass enlivens the light, and the dynamic geometry of the facets transports the user to the world of elegant salons, where detail played the role of discreet decoration.
