Rare stoneware crucifix sculpture designed by roger guérin (1896-1954), bouffioulx, belgium. Circa 1930s. Beautiful cross in style of byzintine art. Made of heavy stoneware with black glaze on the back and sides. Gold decor on the front with some blue, green and navy glass inclusions and purplish beads, similar to natural agate stone. There is a hole on the back for wall mounting. Marked k6 and gres guerin boufioulx (faint mark covered by glaze). Original sticker on the side. Very good vintage condition. There is some fading and wear of gold decor. Rim on the back missing in two places. This seems to be a manufacturing defect, as these parts are covered with glaze. One small chip of glaze on the back, as shown on photos. Dimensions: height: 32cm (12.6in) Width: 32cm (12.6in) Depth: 4cm (1.6in) Weight: 2.2kg. Please bear in mind that the actual color of the item might be slightly different than shown in the photos due to variations in monitor and browser settings.
