Ceramic cup by Raoul Lachenal (1885 - 1956) Ceramic decoration object from the beginning of the 20th century. This is a unique piece signed on the back. Raoul Lachenal was a well-known French potter. He succeeded his father Edmond in 1904, and in 1911 set up a porcelain factory of great fire in Boulogne-sur-Seine, to which he added a production of earthenware and sandstone. While he advocated the process of casting in moulds, his research was no less audacious and, following flaming sandstones, sublime sandstones decorated with scales and geometric patterns, in an original and discreet polychromy, on ovoid or rectangular shapes sometimes evoking the Far East, appeared in 1914. Also noteworthy is an Egyptian blue ceramic production, marketed in New York by Carol STUPELL. Matter: Ceramics Period: Early 20th century
