Maurice model / verdun / primaflore: art deco chandelier in silvered bronze and pressed-molded glass. The chandelier offered here for sale is made in the 1930s, made up of a silver-plated cast bronze frame with a floral theme. Five branches with a square section with three wall lights with floral decorations. A bail cover suspended from a chain ending in a bronze pavilion which takes up the plant motifs of the wall lights. The glassware signed “primaflore france” is composed of a central basin and three tulips in molded-pressed glass, frosted white satin. The “primaflore” signature is a production by maurice model in his cristallerie de verdun. This model of flowered glassware was a dear theme of maurice model which he reproduced in different models throughout his production. It is believed that the “primaflore” signature was intended for a special order for the grands magasins du printemps in paris and not a production line which was intended for wider marketing to various lighting manufacturers.
