Vintage murano lamp Space age

Atmosphere lamp with the appearance of a flying saucer, iconic space age design of the 50's. In carlo nason's taste for the mazzega glassworks in murano. The circular base is made of chromed metal and smoked glass (small scratch on the glass). The base of the lamp is made of orange lacquered metal, punctuated by 3 sets of 5 perforations to dissipate heat. It rests on the base via 3 small chrome spherical feet. The globe is made of blown murano glass, mushroom-shaped with white cloudy effect. Presence of 3 small holes on the underside of the globe also allowing the evacuation of heat. Note some small gins on the lower edge of the globe resting on the metal base, invisible when the globe is in place. The space age is an aesthetic and radical movement that emerged in the early 1950s. It marks a real turning point in the world of design thanks to its futuristic utopian style marked by the conquest of space and the influence of atomic science in the aftermath of the second world war.
