Description
This heavy and imposing enamelled sandstone vase is by joseph talbot (grès de la borne, in the cher), a renowned french ceramicist who was very active in the 1930s. This vase with soft lines and generous shapes, dating from the 1930s, has an enamelled blue background, partly covered with nuanced brown and ochre-yellow drippings, with a bright glaze. The interior of the vase is enamelled with ochre and brown. A very beautiful ceramic by joseph talbot, despite a small accident under the base to report. Struck under the base of the stamp "joseph talbot à la borne, cher" (photo). Height: 29 cm. Body diameter at widest: 17 cm. Base diameter: 14.5 cm. Neck diameter: 12 cm. Weight: 2, 520 kg. 20th century - 1930s. Good general condition, no shrapnel, no ginning on the body and collar.
