The Hungarian artist Judit Burián designed the Erika chair in 1959. She was inspired by the chair of the French designer Pierre Guariche Tonneau. Erika was produced by SZKIV (a chair and upholstery factory) in tens of thousands of copies. This chair was used in almost every Hungarian household during the socialist period. It has retained its original fabric and serves as a comfortable work or dining chair. The wooden parts are original and in very good condition. This piece has been attributed based on archival documents, such as vintage catalogs, designer documents, or other documentary sources. Note — This vintage/antique item may show some wear, such as scratches and other signs of use. Light wear consistent with age and use.
