This tubular writing desk was designed by Rudolf Vichr in the 1940s and manufactured in the 1950s by Kovona. The design reflects mid-century modern principles, combining a functional layout with a lightweight tubular steel construction characteristic of the period. The desk is made of chrome-plated tubular steel with slatted veneer plywood panels, and the drawer body is constructed from solid spruce. The piece has undergone professional restoration: the original wood has been cleaned and finished with high-gloss polyurethane, and the original chrome elements have been polished. The desk is offered in excellent condition after restoration, retaining its original materials and proportions while presenting a clean and refined appearance. It is suitable for everyday use as well as for inclusion in a curated vintage or design-focused interior.
