Vintage Italian opaline glass rocket vase from Empoli, turquoise blue, 1960s-1970s. Striking vintage Empoli glass vase in a sculptural rocket shape from the space age, hand-blown in double-layer opaline glass, featuring an opaque white inner layer and a bright turquoise blue outer coating. The design belongs to the Scandinavian modernism, pop, and space age movements of the 1960s and 1970s, closely related in spirit to the coloured glass of Holmegaard, Lindshammar, and other Scandinavian manufacturers, including Holmegaard's Carnaby line.
