Josef Hoffmann ‘kubus’ sofa for Wittmann

Josef hoffmann designed the ‘kubus’ fauteuil first in 1910 completed with a sofa. The sofa can be two seat or three seat. A classic example of hoffmann’s strict geometrical lines and the quadratic theme in his work is the kubus, which we offer you the sofa from. According to wittmann this is the design philosophy of the kubus: a cube of leather in which all surfaces – whether outside or inside – are covered with a cube-shaped pattern. The squares drawn in at the edges and curved in the middle immediately remind the viewer of cobblestones extended into three dimensions.
