Rare so-called tangle lamp created by richard X zawitz in the 1980s. Inspired by the legendary fidget toy of the same name. The lamp is very playful and made up of numerous shiny black plastic bends. The round, chrome switch at the base is perfectly functional as is the bulb. The protective glass is in excellent condition, the lamp is in near new condition (see photos). Born in pittsburgh (united states), richard focused his work around an artistic movement that zawitz called "curvism". His works can be manipulated into an endless series of forms ranging from abstract to suggestive anthropomorphism. "since day one and the moment I handed a tangle to someone at a trade show and saw their smile and positive reaction to playing with my invention, I have never stopped creating and innovate. Witnessing the magic brought by its manipulation, it led me to become one with the tangle. Originally created as a one-of-a-kind wooden sculpture, I decided subsequently mass-produce tangle; so that everyone can experience the creative process." the photos are part of the description.
