It merged with brignogan-plages to form the new commune of plounéour-brignogan-plages. Georges levreau (1867-1936) was a french painter born in nantes. His work consists of numerous portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. He is responsible for the decor of the italian-style theater in la roche-sur-yon.
