Description
Beautiful old cast iron fireplace plate dating from the twentieth century. The plate bears the signature of the sewing foundry and on the back the number 79-22-198. Romantic décor, probable representation of the bath of Venus. The story goes that the chimney plate was invented at the sewing foundry in the Meuse, where the first blast furnace was built in 1553.
