Old romantic engraving, gallant scene from the 19th century, signed, numbered, 1921

Beautiful old engraving, gallant scene from the 19th century, kissing scene, aquatint, signed and bearing no. 75. The costumes inspire the libertine era of the late 18th century but the artist who signed the engraving which is dated 1921, is therefore from the beginning of the 20th century. Inscriptions in the margin give the following information: "published by l'estampe moderne, 14 rue de richelieu, paris 1921" (top left) and "copyright 1921 by the fhbressler cie, milwaukee, usa" (american gallery also having made louis icart known in the united states) at the top right. The engraving is in very good condition, the frame is missing some gilding but the wood is not damaged. Lots of charm for this timeless, beautifully crafted subject. There is no window.
