Umeda, masanori (born in 1941). Armchair model "getsuen chair" or "lily" Steel structure covered with orange velvet resting on two chrome ball legs at the front. H. 89 - l. 102 - p. 100 cm. Good condition, wear from use, soiling of the fabric. Masanori umeda (1941-) is a Japanese designer. He graduated from the kuwasawa design school in 1962. At the end of the 1960s, he worked in the workshop of achille and pier giacomo castiglioni. Then, in the 1970s, he worked at the italian publisher olivetti. It was there that he met ettore sottsass. In the 1980s, he participated with him in the memphis movement, close to the ideas of antidesign. Author of many postmodern, poetic and ironic furniture, masanori umeda draws his inspiration in particular from his garden, where many varieties of flowers grow.
