Pair of armchairs by Charles Dudouyt, France, ca. 1940. The frame has multiple sculpted details that add up to form a complex whole. Sculpted lines and circular ends, straight and round parts come together for a rather striking old Art Deco chair. A special feature is the flexible backrest which can be moved up to the seat. Webbed seats add natural character to the weathered frames and overall design. The armchairs are family heirlooms and I have not received proof of authenticity.
