Large Provencal gargoyle

The gargolette was used to keep the wine cool during fieldwork. The fully glazed interior allowed the transported liquid not to come into contact with the porous terracotta. The natural terracotta bottom was immersed in the water of the stream or spring to cool the contents. Nowadays, it will be used for country decoration or, as it has its lid, it can be prepared its homemade vinegar or olives. Total height about 32cm.
