Description
This hairdresser dating from the early art deco period is attributed to maurice dufrène for la maitrise des galeries lafayette in paris founded in 1922. The dressing table is entirely veneered with various species of amaranth wood, rosewood, rosewood and sycamore. The top, drawer and mirror are inlaid with geometric and floral motifs. A superb work of marquetry and cabinetmaking. This dressing table has been completely restored and revarnished, and is in very good condition. The height of the tray is 76 cm and the total height including the mirror is 139 cm. A similar hairdresser by maurice dufrène is exhibited at the musée des arts décoratifs in paris.
