Open-back canapé from the Restoration period in carved and gilded wood. The lower part features neoclassical sculptures, as do the turned legs. The backrest and side supports end in a volute, elegantly adorned with inserts of embroidered fabric with neoclassical themes, framed by gilded mouldings. The front inserts are significantly faded. The backrest, sides, and seat are upholstered; the cushions are missing. Italy, second quarter of the 19th century.
