Russian Khokhloma box, made of black laqué wood and floral motifs, hand-painted. Khokhloma is the name of a traditional craft that appeared in Russia in the mid-17th century, in small villages on the left bank of the volga, including Khokhloma. Lay decoration of furniture and objects. The motifs are floral or represent strawberries or sorber berries, as here on this box, sometimes birds and fish. 20th century - 1960s. Original label glued under the base, numbered in blue. Diameter: 13 cm - Height: 4, 5 cm - Inner depth: 3, 5 cm. Very nice condition. Note a tiny jump of the not only at the back of the box, not visible when the object is placed (photo). Some traces of time on the surface of the lasca, under the box. Visible in certain angles of light only. Sending fast and neat, in parcel followed Colissimo or Point Relay.
